About the tides at Rowayton
Rowayton has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor. With a mean range of about 7.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Connecticut stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 7.7 ft. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 8.8 ft on September 2 and bottom out at −1.3 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here in 1995 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Long Neck Point, 3 mi away. For tidal currents, see Sheffield I. Hbr., 0.5 mile southeast of.
Predictions are based on Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor.
