About the tides at Summerland Key, Niles Channel Bridge

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. The mean range is small, about 0.9 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on Monday, with a range of 1.4 ft. Neap tides follow on Wednesday, when the range shrinks to 0.8 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.7 ft on October 28, and the lowest is −0.4 ft on January 21.

Summerland Key, Niles Channel Bridge is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Key West: highs come about 10 min earlier and lows about 56 min later than there. The nearest other station is Summerland Key, 0.6 mi away, where high tide comes about 26 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Loggerhead Key, East of.

Predictions are based on Key West.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
