About the tides at Surf Bay

Surf Bay has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The average range is about 2.5 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.8 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 30, with a range of 5.5 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 0.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.2 ft on January 20, and the lowest is −1.7 ft on July 3.
