About the tides at Unalga Bight

Unalga Bight has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Adak Island, Sweeper Cove. The average range is about 2.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 29, with a range of 5.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 1.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.4 ft on December 23, and the lowest is −1.7 ft on June 6.

Unalga Bight is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Adak Island, Sweeper Cove: highs come about 7 min and lows about 21 min earlier than there.
