About the tides at Trois-Rivières

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. Water here rises and falls only about 0.13 m on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Quebec stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 0.23 m, comes tomorrow, and the smallest, 0.14 m, on Monday.

Trois-Rivières is a CHS station with a live water level gauge. Predictions come from the station's own tidal analysis. It was established in 1912. The nearest other station is Bécancour, 14 km away, where high tide comes about 15 min earlier. Heights are measured from chart datum, which in most Canadian tidal waters is set near the lowest normal tide. That is why lows here rarely go below zero.
