About the tides at Tumbo Channel

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The range is large, about 1.73 m on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1965. The nearest other station is Narvaez Bay, 2.2 km away, where high tide comes about 25 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Skipjack Island, 1.5 miles northwest of. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
