About the tides at Walburg Creek entrance
Walburg Creek entrance has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Fort Pulaski, Savannah River. The range is large, about 6.8 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 9.2 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.8 ft on January 23.
Walburg Creek entrance is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Fort Pulaski, Savannah River: highs come about 16 min and lows about 21 min later than there. The nearest other station is North Newport River (Daymark 119), 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 19 min later. For tidal currents, see N. Newport River, NE of Vandyke Creek.
Predictions are based on Fort Pulaski, Savannah River.
