About the tides at 0.8 n.mi. above entrance

0.8 n.mi. above entrance has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Reedy Point, C&d Canal. The range is large, about 5.0 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 6.1 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 4.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 6.6 ft on August 3, and the lowest is −0.8 ft on January 24.

0.8 n.mi. above entrance is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Reedy Point, C&d Canal: highs come about 21 min later and lows about 10 min earlier than there.
