About the tides at Allanton
Most days here have a single high and a single low. Around neap tides the pattern can blur into small double tides. The mean range is small, about 1.4 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak on Saturday, with a range of 2.1 ft. Neap tides follow on October 8, when the range shrinks to 0.3 ft.
Allanton is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Farmdale, 1.0 mi away. For tidal currents, see Paper Mill.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
