About the tides at Anclote
Anclote has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Clearwater Beach. The average range is about 2.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.1 ft. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 3.6 ft. Neap tides follow on October 19, when the range shrinks to 2.0 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 4.2 ft on August 2, and the lowest is −1.4 ft on January 21.
Anclote is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Clearwater Beach: highs come about 39 min and lows about 55 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1973 to 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Tarpon Springs, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 21 min later.
