About the tides at Anthony Point
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.4 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Newport. The average range is about 3.8 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.2 ft. The next spring tides peak on Saturday, with a range of 4.9 ft. Neap tides follow on October 18, when the range shrinks to 2.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.4 ft on September 2, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 23.
Anthony Point is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Newport: highs come about 0 min and lows about 1 min earlier than there.
