About the tides at North End

Expect two roughly equal high tides a day at Sakonnet River, North End, Bay Oil Pier, each arriving about 50 minutes later than the day before. The pattern follows the reference station at Newport, Narragansett Bay. The average range is about 4.2 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.6 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 5.9 ft on September 2, and the lowest is −0.9 ft on January 23.

North End is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Newport, Narragansett Bay: highs come about 20 min and lows about 1 min later than there.
