About the tides at Atkinson Point

Atkinson Point has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The mean range is small, about 0.27 m, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 0.51 m. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 0.17 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1974. The nearest other station is Krubluyak Point, 50 km away, where high tide comes about 5 h 24 m later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.

Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
