About the tides at Big Pine Key, Pine Channel Bridge, south side
Big Pine Key, Pine Channel Bridge, south side has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Key West. Water here rises and falls only about 1.0 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.7 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 1.0 ft, on Tuesday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 1.7 ft on October 28 and bottom out at −0.2 ft on January 21.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Key West, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Big Pine Key, Pine Channel Bridge, north side, 0.2 mi away, where high tide comes about 16 min later. For tidal currents, see No Name Key, northeast of.
Predictions are based on Key West.
