About the tides at Billingsport
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.7 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Philadelphia (USCG Sta.), Delaware River. The range is large, about 5.2 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most New Jersey stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 6.1 ft. Neap tides follow tomorrow, when the range shrinks to 5.0 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 6.9 ft on August 3, and the lowest is −0.5 ft on January 25.
Billingsport is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Philadelphia (USCG Sta.), Delaware River: highs come about 35 min and lows about 28 min earlier than there.
