About the tides at Bridgeport
Bridgeport has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. With a mean range of about 5.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most New Jersey stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 6.0 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 5.0 ft, on Sunday.
Bridgeport is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Marcus Hook, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 12 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Eddystone.
