About the tides at Brighton Beach. May River
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 1.0 ft. With a mean range of about 7.7 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most South Carolina stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 8.3 ft. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 10.3 ft on October 27 and bottom out at −1.5 ft on January 23.
Predictions for Brighton Beach. May River come from this station's own tide records. There is no live sensor, so the table shows forecast only. NOAA measured the tide here in 2022 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Bluffton, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 27 min later. For tidal currents, see MacKay Creek, south entrance.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
