About the tides at Broad Cove Marsh

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The mean range is small, about 0.52 m, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Nova Scotia stations on this site. The next spring tides peak tomorrow, with a range of 0.91 m. Neap tides follow on October 23, when the range shrinks to 0.43 m.

The nearest other station is East Margaree Bridge, 17 km away, where high tide comes about 57 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose.
