About the tides at East Margaree River
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The mean range is small, about 0.40 m, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most Nova Scotia stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on Friday, with a range of 0.79 m. Neap tides follow on October 9, when the range shrinks to 0.48 m.
This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Margaree Trailer, 2.3 km away, where high tide comes about 25 min earlier. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
