About the tides at Byron Bay (Copper Island)

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.16 m. The average range is about 1.41 m. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is larger than most Newfoundland and Labrador stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 29, with a range of 1.82 m. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 1.24 m.

This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. The nearest other station is Jeanette Bay, 13 km away, where high tide comes about 19 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
