About the tides at Cap-aux-Corbeaux
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.58 m. The tide range here is very large, about 4.11 m on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Quebec stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 6.01 m. Neap tides follow on Monday, when the range shrinks to 2.98 m.
This is a prediction station. CHS calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. It was established in 1929. The nearest other station is Saint-Bernard-sur-Mer, 4.8 km away, where high tide comes about 20 min later. Canadian tide heights use chart datum, a level set low on purpose. Negative heights are uncommon.
Tide predictions and water levels from the Canadian Hydrographic Service. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
