About the tides at Captain Alex's Marina

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Springmaid Pier, Myrtle beach. On a typical day the water moves about 4.3 ft between high and low. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 4.8 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.3 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 4.6 ft, on Sunday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Springmaid Pier, Myrtle beach, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1974 to 1975 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Smith's Dock, 0.7 mi away.
