About the tides at Cedar Key

Cedar Key has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. On a typical day the water moves about 2.8 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.8 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 5.1 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 2.2 ft, today. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.7 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.5 ft on December 24.
