About the tides at Cliffs Point

Cliffs Point has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River. Water here rises and falls only about 1.3 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.8 ft on July 4 and bottom out at −1.0 ft on January 22.
