About the tides at Deep Landing
Deep Landing has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River. Water here rises and falls only about 0.9 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Maryland stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 1.8 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 0.8 ft, on October 31. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 2.1 ft on July 4 and bottom out at −0.7 ft on January 22.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here in 1993 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Tolchester Beach, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 21 min later. For tidal currents, see Swan Point, 1.6 miles northwest of.
Predictions are based on Baltimore, Fort McHenry, Patapsco River.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
