About the tides at Conway

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.2 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Charleston, Cooper River Entrance. The mean range is small, about 0.9 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 1.8 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 0.2 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 1.7 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.1 ft on January 23.

Conway is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Charleston, Cooper River Entrance: highs come about 439 min and lows about 448 min later than there. The nearest other station is Pitch Landing, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 6 min later.

Predictions are based on Charleston, Cooper River Entrance.
