About the tides at Cos Cob Harbor
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.5 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor. With a mean range of about 7.0 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most Connecticut stations on this site. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 9.0 ft on September 2 and bottom out at −1.3 ft on January 23.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Stamford, 3 mi away. For tidal currents, see Cos Cob Harbor, off Goose Island.
Predictions are based on Bridgeport, Bridgeport Harbor.
