About the tides at Coyote Hills Slough entrance
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at San Francisco, San Francisco Bay. With a mean range of about 5.6 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most California stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 7.1 ft, comes today, and the smallest, 4.4 ft, on Friday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 8.5 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −0.8 ft on December 24.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at San Francisco, San Francisco Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1976 to 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is South Bay Wreck, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 10 min later.
