About the tides at San Mateo Bridge (east end)
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at San Francisco, San Francisco Bay. The range is large, about 5.7 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most California stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 28, with a range of 9.6 ft. Neap tides follow on October 31, when the range shrinks to 4.2 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 9.0 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −1.8 ft on December 24.
San Mateo Bridge (east end) is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting San Francisco, San Francisco Bay: highs come about 48 min and lows about 79 min later than there.
