About the tides at Redwood Creek Marker 8
This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at San Francisco, San Francisco Bay. The range is large, about 6.1 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most California stations on this site. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 8.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 3.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 10.2 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −1.9 ft on December 24.
Redwood Creek Marker 8 is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting San Francisco, San Francisco Bay: highs come about 53 min and lows about 88 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1974 to 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Bay Slough, east end, 2 mi away. For tidal currents, see Redwood Creek.
Predictions are based on San Francisco, San Francisco Bay.
