About the tides at Culross Bay

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Cordova. The range is large, about 9.6 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 15.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 7.4 ft.

Culross Bay is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Cordova: highs come about 15 min and lows about 1 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Long Bay Entrance, 5 mi away, where high tide comes about 18 min later. For tidal currents, see Point Culross.

Predictions are based on Cordova.
