About the tides at Long Bay Entrance
Long Bay Entrance has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Cordova. With a mean range of about 9.1 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 14.7 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 5.2 ft, on October 16. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 15.0 ft on November 25 and bottom out at −3.8 ft on July 5.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Cordova, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1961 to 1995 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Cochrane Bay, 4 mi away. For tidal currents, see Culross Passage.
Predictions are based on Cordova.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
