About the tides at Cutler
Cutler has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The tide range here is very large, about 13.7 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Maine stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 14.6 ft. The next spring tides peak today, with a range of 16.4 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 12.3 ft.
Little River is a NOAA water level station with a live gauge, updated every 6 minutes. Predictions come from the station's own tide records. It also reports water temperature, wind and air pressure. It was established in 1963. The nearest other station is Cutler, Naval Radio Station, 4 mi away.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
