About the tides at Stone Island

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.6 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Eastport, Passamaquoddy Bay. The tide range here is very large, about 11.7 ft on average. Water can come in faster than you can walk across flats. Check the time before you go out. That is larger than most Maine stations on this site. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 14.8 ft on January 23, and the lowest is −1.8 ft on January 23.

Stone Island is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Eastport, Passamaquoddy Bay: highs come about 11 min and lows about 28 min earlier than there. The nearest other station is Cutler, Naval Radio Station, 4 mi away. For tidal currents, see Moosabec Reach, east end.

Predictions are based on Eastport, Passamaquoddy Bay.
