About the tides at Dahlgren

Dahlgren has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. Water here rises and falls only about 1.5 ft on an average day. A strong onshore wind can push levels above the prediction. That is smaller than most Virginia stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 2.0 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 1.6 ft, on Sunday.
