About the tides at Damons Point
Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.8 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Boston, Boston Harbor. The range is large, about 8.0 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most Massachusetts stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 11.2 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 5.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 10.5 ft on November 26, and the lowest is −1.6 ft on January 23.
Damons Point is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Boston, Boston Harbor: highs come about 20 min and lows about 36 min later than there. The nearest other station is Scituate, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 18 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Weir River entrance.
Predictions are based on Boston, Boston Harbor.
