About the tides at Dunedin

Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 0.7 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Clearwater Beach. On a typical day the water moves about 2.0 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.9 ft. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.7 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.3 ft on January 21.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Clearwater Beach, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here from 1973 to 1976 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Clearwater Beach, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 26 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Clearwater Pass, 0.2 mi. NE of Sand Key.

Predictions are based on Clearwater Beach.
