About the tides at Ozona
Ozona has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Clearwater Beach. On a typical day the water moves about 2.1 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 3.0 ft. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 4.1 ft on August 2 and bottom out at −1.4 ft on January 21.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Clearwater Beach, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here in 1975 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Honeymoon Island, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 20 min later. For tidal currents, see Clearwater Pass, 0.2 mi. NE of Sand Key.
Predictions are based on Clearwater Beach.
