About the tides at Edgartown

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The average range is about 2.1 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Massachusetts stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.7 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.1 ft on December 24, and the lowest is −0.3 ft on December 25.

This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here in 2004 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Wasque Point, 4 mi away, where high tide comes about 2 h 35 m earlier. For tidal currents, see Cape Poge Light, 1.4 miles west of.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
