About the tides at Edisto Marina
Edisto Marina has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Fort Pulaski, Savannah River. The range is large, about 6.0 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 6.5 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 7.7 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.7 ft on January 23.
Edisto Marina is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Fort Pulaski, Savannah River: highs come about 6 min and lows about 13 min earlier than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1975 to 1977 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Carters Dock, 0.8 mi away, where high tide comes about 14 min later. For tidal currents, see South Edisto River entrance.
Predictions are based on Fort Pulaski, Savannah River.
