About the tides at Eshamy Lagoon

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Cordova. With a mean range of about 8.9 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 14.3 ft, comes on October 11, and the smallest, 6.7 ft, on Friday.

Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Cordova, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. NOAA measured the tide here in 1996 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Eshamy Bay, 2 mi away, where high tide comes about 12 min later.
