About the tides at Fishing Creek entrance

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.7 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Reedy Point, C&d Canal. The range is large, about 5.2 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. That is larger than most New Jersey stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 6.2 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 4.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 6.8 ft on August 2, and the lowest is −0.8 ft on January 24.

Fishing Creek entrance is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Reedy Point, C&d Canal: highs come about 111 min and lows about 130 min earlier than there.
