About the tides at Fortescue Creek

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.8 ft. With a mean range of about 5.8 ft, the shoreline here changes a lot between high and low water. That is larger than most New Jersey stations on this site. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 6.4 ft. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 6.7 ft, comes on Sunday, and the smallest, 4.3 ft, on October 18.
