About the tides at Florence
Tides here are mixed. On average the two daily highs differ by 1.0 ft, so check which low is the lower one before you head out. The pattern follows the reference station at Charleston, Coos Bay. On a typical day the water moves about 4.8 ft between high and low. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 8.9 ft, comes on October 27, and the smallest, 3.6 ft, on October 31. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 8.3 ft on December 24 and bottom out at −2.0 ft on July 5.
Tides here are worked out from the reference station at Charleston, Coos Bay, with NOAA time and height corrections. Times are good for planning, but local wind can shift them. The nearest other station is Florence USCG Pier, 3 mi away, where high tide comes about 34 min earlier. For tidal currents, see Heceta Head.
Predictions are based on Charleston, Coos Bay.
Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
