About the tides at Golovin
Tides at Golovnin Lagoon Entrance are mostly diurnal: one rise and one fall a day, with a slow change between them. The average range is about 3.0 ft. Spring tides add a little more at both ends. That is smaller than most Alaska stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 31, with a range of 4.6 ft. Neap tides follow on Saturday, when the range shrinks to 0.9 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 4.6 ft on July 4, and the lowest is −1.3 ft on November 27.
This is a prediction station. NOAA calculates its tides from past measurements at this spot, but there is no live gauge today. NOAA measured the tide here from 1900 to 2023 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Upper Golovnin Lagoon, 6 mi away, where high tide comes about 1 h 11 m later.
