About the tides at Harborton

Harborton has a mixed tide. The two daily highs, and especially the two lows, can differ a lot in height. The pattern follows the reference station at Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. The mean range is small, about 1.8 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. From the average lower low to the average higher high, the difference is 2.0 ft. The next spring tides peak on October 27, with a range of 2.6 ft. Neap tides follow today, when the range shrinks to 1.1 ft.
