About the tides at Hillsboro Inlet (ocean)

Hillsboro Inlet (ocean) has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. On a typical day the water moves about 2.5 ft between high and low. That is larger than most Florida stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.4 ft, comes on October 10, and the smallest, 2.5 ft, on Sunday.

Hillsboro Inlet (ocean) is a subordinate station, so NOAA publishes only its high and low times and heights. The nearest other station is Hillsboro Inlet, 0.2 mi away, where high tide comes about 7 min later. For tidal currents, see Fort Lauderdale, New River.

Tide predictions and water levels from NOAA CO-OPS. For planning only, not for navigation. Real water levels can differ because of wind, air pressure and river flow. Always check conditions on site.
