About the tides at Holly Grove Plantation

Tides here follow a regular twice-daily rhythm. The two daily highs usually differ by only 0.4 ft. The pattern follows the reference station at Charleston, Cooper River Entrance. On a typical day the water moves about 2.3 ft between high and low. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. Over the next two weeks the biggest daily range, 3.5 ft, comes on October 28, and the smallest, 1.6 ft, on Monday. Looking a year ahead, predictions peak at 3.4 ft on October 27 and bottom out at −1.0 ft on January 23.
