About the tides at Little Bull Creek entrance

Little Bull Creek entrance has a semidiurnal tide: two highs and two lows of similar height each day, about 12 hours and 25 minutes apart. The pattern follows the reference station at Charleston, Cooper River Entrance. The mean range is small, about 2.0 ft, so wind and pressure can matter as much as the tide itself. That is smaller than most South Carolina stations on this site. The next spring tides peak on October 25, with a range of 2.8 ft. Neap tides follow on Sunday, when the range shrinks to 1.1 ft. In the next 12 months the highest predicted tide here is 3.2 ft on October 27, and the lowest is −1.2 ft on January 23.

Little Bull Creek entrance is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Charleston, Cooper River Entrance: highs come about 239 min and lows about 283 min later than there. NOAA measured the tide here from 1982 to 1983 to set up these predictions. The nearest other station is Bull Creek entrance, 1 mi away, where high tide comes about 23 min earlier.

Predictions are based on Charleston, Cooper River Entrance.
