About the tides at Icy Bay

This is a mixed-tide station. Some days bring a deep low and a shallow low, and a few days have only one of each. The pattern follows the reference station at Yakutat, Yakutat Bay. The range is large, about 7.5 ft on average. Flats and bars appear and vanish quickly, so keep an eye on the time. The next spring tides peak on October 11, with a range of 12.0 ft. Neap tides follow on Friday, when the range shrinks to 5.9 ft.

Icy Bay is a subordinate station. NOAA predicts its tides by adjusting Yakutat, Yakutat Bay: highs come about 2 min and lows about 3 min later than there.
